A Hybrid Vehicle Loved Around the World

The environment is one of the Toyota’s top management priorities, and we are actively working to promote the proliferation of hybrid vehicles. Since its launch in December 1997, the Prius, the world’s first mass-produced hybrid passenger vehicle has found many supporters, and by the end of March 2013, Toyota had sold a total of 5 million hybrid vehicles. By December 2013 that total had reached 6 million. To ensure that ever more customers choose to drive hybrid vehicles we will continue our efforts to improve performance, reduce cost, and expand the product lineup.
