Toyota dealers in Japan pit their vehicle maintenance skills against each other in a fuel economy run called the “Prius Cup.” The focus of the event is good teamwork, with engineers competing on the basis of vehicle servicing skills and drivers competing to drive in the most fuel-efficient manner possible. Unlike ordinary races, this event allows people to appreciate the charms of eco-driving, bringing attention to environmental efforts and skills such as just how fuel-efficiently trials on public roads are being actively carried out, even overseas.
