The 4WD models, a part-time 2-speed transmission lets you choose the mode that best matches road conditions. H2 mode, for example, is ideal for regular driving on city streets and highways, while H4 mode is best for rainy, slippery conditions.

L4 mode provides especially strong traction when required. The 3.0 liter and 2.5 liter, 16-valve turbo diesel engines feature direct fuel injection by common rail into the cylinders. This precisely controls the air-fuel ratio, contributing to the excellent response and fuel efficiency.

A long-life fuel filter and an advanced fuel warning system contribute to the filter requiring less frequent replacement. A 2.7 liter gasoline engine is also available.
