In Europe, emphasis is placed on dealing with environmental issues, and therefore there is considerable interest in eco-cars. In Asia, in addition to their superior environmental performance, hybrid vehicles are also recognized for the high added value of other features, such as quietness, fuel efficiency and their innovative image (based on ASEAN research), and they are growing in popularity among people in the region with contemporary values.
