TOYOTA GAZOO Racing Latin America lands at IMSA with a GR Supra GT4

Will start competing in the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge in 2021.

Buenos Aires, September 4th, 2020 – TOYOTA GAZOO Racing Latin America announced that it will start competing in the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge in the United States in 2021 with a Toyota GR Supra GT4, with the assistance of the Riley Motorsports team. The debut will be in the legendary four-hour endurance race at Daytona International Speedway in January next year.

TOYOTA GAZOO Racing Latin America team will be represented by a group of Toyota distributors from Argentina, Brazil, Costa Rica, Guatemala, the Dominican Republic and Paraguay. The team will be coordinated by Masahiro Inoue, CEO of Toyota for Latin America and the Caribbean, together with Daniel Herrero, Chief Officer of TOYOTA GAZOO Racing in the region. While Javier Quiros, Toyota dealer in Costa Rica, will be the Principal Team.

Entering one of the IMSA categories, in one of the most competitive motorsports series in the world, will help us continue to grow, develop our personnel and make ever better cars.”

Riley Motorsports is family-owned and operated and is a mainstay in North American sports car race team operations as well as automotive design engineering, manufacturing and assembly. Riley has designed and built cars that have won the prestigious Rolex 24 at Daytona 13 times overall along with many other race wins.

GR Supra GT4 is based on GR Supra, TOYOTA GAZOO Racing's first global model, and is developed and produced by TOYOTA GAZOO Racing Europe GmbH (TGR-E).
