In 2017, the model was the best-selling SUV in the world, the best-selling automobile in the US, and the second-best-selling automobile in the world after the Toyota Corolla.

In the 21st century, people expect more from an SUV than outstanding performance and utility. They want their vehicle to mean something and to say something. Recognizing this need, Toyota has shifted the RAV4 away from the current passenger vehicle trend and brought back true SUV looks and excitement with a modern twist.
The exterior design is based on two principles that realize its original concept of "an off-road vehicle built for urban environments that's a pleasure to drive and look at":
Adventure: A simple yet strong message of WAKU-DOKI (Japanese for "heart-pumping excitement") that inspired owners to get up and go in their RAV4, no matter the time or place.
Refinement: Sophistication that perfectly matches urban environments
The combination of these two contrasting principles maximizes the presence of RAV4 while giving it a high level of finesse inside and out. Retaining its style even when covered in mud from off-road action, RAV4 inspires users to embark on a grand adventure.
Audio System & Air Conditioning
The audio system comes with a large display, which is highly visible and easy to use. The air conditioner enables independent temperature control for the driver’s seat and front passenger’s seat. It adopts S-FLOW, an advanced feature that senses and adjusts the climate only within spaces occupied by a passenger.
Luggage Room
Length has been increased to support flexibility in a wider range of scenarios. Luggage space can be further expanded by folding down the rear seats.
Multi-Terrain Select
By offering a choice of three drive modes (MUD&SAND / NORMAL / ROCK&DIRT) via the dial-type switch, this system lets you obtain optimum traction on varying surfaces, helping drivers enjoy secure, sure-footed control.
Ventilated Seats
Front seats are equipped with a ventilation function which provides a flow of cool air to help keep the occupant’s back and legs dry.
Engine Line-Up
The 2.5-liter engine delivers high output and world-class combustion efficiency owing to the introduction of components such as VVT-iE*, while the 2.0-liter engine achieves a thermal efficiency of 40% and balances fuel efficiency with throttle response.

Wireless Charger
The Rav4 is equipped with a Wireless Charging System*, in which you don’t need to use your charging wires anymore to charge your cellphone.
